Register For The Citizen's Police Academy

The Citizen's Police Academy is a program designed to acquaint Citizens with the organization and interior working of the East Point Police Department. The program will foster and enhance Police - Community relations, raise Community awareness of Police operations and training, and promote harmony within the Community. The course of study is much the same as that of the regular police academy program. However, citizens graduating from the course will not be police officers. Students will attend classes once a week, and topics will range from crime prevention, drug enforcement, criminal investigations, the use of firearms, and a ride-along with police officers.

The Citizen's Police Academy starts on March 22, 2005. Each session will last from 7 PM to 9 PM and will be held each Tuesday evening for ten weeks. Graduation will be Tuesday night May 24, 2005.

To register for the class contact Lt. Cliff Gibson @ (404) 765-1164 or e-mail cgibson@eastpointcity.org.
